About Apex Imaging
Apex Imaging was founded in 2017 when I realized that my passion for filmmaking had grown too big to remain just a hobby. What began as a drive to capture the world from a different perspective has evolved into a full-scale media agency. Apex Imaging evolved from capturing simple aerial shots into handling full-scale video production. Today, Apex Imaging executes the entire cinematic pipeline, from high-speed FPV-drone shots and standard ground-level cinematography to the final edit.
The Difference
Let’s be honest, anyone can hit record on a camera and slap a few clips together on a timeline. What actually separates a generic video from something unforgettable is its identity. For Apex Imaging, that identity is forged in the edit. I don’t view post-production as just a "final touch". It’s where the product is made. It’s about having the patience to find a video's unique "voice". It's about the perfect sound track, the custom color grade, and the nuanced sound design. Every single frame should feel intentional.
Behind the Scenes
My name is Gavin Merrill-Skoloff. I picked up a camera when I was 14 years old and simply forgot to put it down. Since then, I’ve built a professional identity as an FAA-certified drone operator, film maker, and editor. I back up my creative drive with a BFA in Film and an MBA in marketing. I believe you can be a Jack of All Trades and still master a couple skills along the way.
